Maclaren is an old British company which was founded back in mid 1960s. When they wanted to create stroller that had European styling, American convenience, and reasonable price they have created the Maclaren Techno XT. I just love this stroller. It has so many different features that make it stand apart from everyday strollers that you see everywhere. A great feature is that it comes with a matching foot muff and rain cover that will keep your baby warm and away from the elements. You have the fluorescence stripe on the top of the hood and it is carried on through the foot muff as well. What you will notice is that it has a leather feel on the inside. It is very warm and very cozy. Also, you will notice that if you use the foot muff it gives you extra protection on the inside of your stroller. So, it is extra padding for the child. It also keeps them nice and warm. And if you are going out in the stores and it becomes quite warm all you have to do is unzip it. The whole thing just comes off. You also have all of your harness positions on it and the stroller will fold with the foot muff on it. The foot muff sells optionally for around $80. No doubt it is a nice accessory to go with this fabulous pushchair.
This stroller is meant for newborns and up. It features 6.5 inches wheels with a self-aligning front swivel unit, front and rear suspension. This superb pushchair also features extendable leg rest, a 4 recline positions, further ensuring the best comfort of your child.
The canopy on the Maclaren Techno XT is fantastic. It is absolutely huge and it rotates all the way down to completely block your child from the sun and elements. Plus it has a cute little picaboo window with UV protection so that you can see your child if you need to. There is a heavy pocket for your personal item on the back of the canopy as well as a decent size basket.
The handle bars are adjustable and ergonomically shaped. The 3 position adjustable handles will have moms and dads loving this stroller as much as their kids do.
Folding the stroller is fast and easy to do. You simply grab onto two back handles and it folds down flat. There is a locking mechanism that locks the stroller automatically when folded down. Its folding time is estimated to be 5 seconds.
This full sized stroller easily fits into trunk of an SUV and the compact cars. To unlock the stroller unlock the locking mechanism and pull up and you are ready to go.
The fabric is not only beautiful but it comes in many different colors. At 14.2 pounds it is really a lightweight stroller. It retails at around $300. So, if you are looking for a luxury stroller without the luxury price you should consider the Maclaren Techno XT. With its fabulous adjustable handles, great fabrics and great maneuverability I give it 5 stars.
Maclaren Techno XT is probably Maclaren’s best product in their stroller family. It is a lightweight stroller that falls into a lightweight category weigh in around 14 pounds which is so great. First thing, the canopy is gigantic. And moms and dads just love this feature because it prevents water from getting too hot for their kids. Also the seat is very comfortable and your child will enjoy sitting in it. Your child will completely be shaded in this three part canopy. If you just want a part of canopy it stays there, but it goes all the way down and your child is completely covered.
The seat is very large and roomy. It has around 55 pounds weight capacity so you can even put your three year old and four year old to jump in and ride. It has a five point padded harness for safety and lots of room for your child to grow. This way, you will be able to use it for years. As you can see the seat is roomy for even the tall 40 inch boy or a girl. As you will notice there is so much room for your child to grow. The head doesn’t even come near the canopy. He or she will have plenty of room on the sides and he or she can put feet comfortably on a foot rest.
The Maclaren Techno XT has a great seat recline. It is done with a simple mom friendly system. Basically, it takes 15 seconds to fold it and unfold it. Also, when folded it takes up very little room, so is ideal to take out when going out shopping. The seat goes almost flat (around 150 degrees). It has the great UV window that does not allow the air to circulate, but it keeps your child protected from the UV rays.
The Maclaren XT has a great basket underneath. It is so roomy. You can fit a large diaper bag in it easily. It also has a mash pocket on the top for even more storage. One of my favorite features on this stroller, besides the fabulous canopy of course, is the fast and easy fold. It is so easy to do. And with its 14.2 pounds you will be able to hold your kid and the stroller at the same time. The only "problem" is that it doesn’t stand up on its own. But that is a minor complaint. On the other hand, it fits most of the car trunks.
This baby stroller has great maneuverability. It has four great tires that give its maneuverability. Of course, the front tires are responsible for steering. And best of all, the tires provide excellent comfort and light control. It is very easy to push. You can even turn it one handed. As you will notice the seat is set almost over the rear wheels, so that is what gives this stroller its stability.
It also has a taller handle that is adjustable and tall enough for tallest parents. The Maclaren Techno XT has some really great additional accessories such as a rain hood. I have only minor complaints, not even worth mentioning. All in all, this pushchair is a pretty good choice. So, if you are looking for a lightweight stroller that has great features than this stroller is the right one for you. I give it full five stars.
The Maclaren Techno XT is a full size, packed with features stroller. Many moms love their travel systems. And this stroller is a great option for this. It has a lot of features that are baby friendly as well as mom friendly. What you’ll find is that this system is actually suitable for newborn all the way up to approximately 4 years of age.
Techno XT has a nice canopy. First it has the sun visor that comes down to shade your children even more. So, we have the UV protection on the front and also on the top. It has a window for peaking for moms. And a nice feature is that is folds all the way down to the baby tray to protect your baby from the elements.
The seat is roomy for a small child or a large child. A tall 3-year old clears the canopy with room to spare. So, you are going to get a lot of use out of this. It has a 5 point padded harness that is adjustable. Also, it has around 55 pound weight limits and as you will notice there is a lot of room on both sides.
The rain cover fits over the edge of the hood and it locks on to the position on clips that you have on the top and also at the bottom of your pushchair. If you are out in the rain and you are going into stores rather than taking the whole thing off I would advise you to just undo the bottom part, roll it up and than you can roll it back into your hood. It keeps it well out of the way and ready for when you are ready to go back outside into the elements again.
This stroller is very newborn friendly. It has a completely flat recline. And if you snap the foot rest it becomes an infant bed for your newborn. Also, it has four recline positions that are very easy to do one handed with just the lift of the lever.
It has adjustable handles. You simply squeeze buttons and it actually lifts the handles up. So, if you got a taller partner or if you are quite tall yourself Maclaren Techno XT will accommodate that.
On the back of the hood it has a large storage pocket and also a little net pocket on the back as well to store your mobile, keys or whatever it is that you want to store away. On the hood itself you actually have a clear view look through. And you also have the fluorescence stripe on the top.
The basket is gigantic. You can put a large diaper bag into it and you will still have plenty of room to spare. So, you can probably put two diaper bags if you need to. And it has a great spring loaded feature that if the seat is all the way reclined you can still access the basket easily.
The Maclaren Techno XT weighs in 14.2 pounds. And as you already know all of the travel systems are big and heavy. But this pushchair is both lightweight and compact as well as sturdy.
This Maclaren Stroller maneuvers easily with two hands. Since it is so heavy like all travel systems one handed you will have to use a lot more muscle power. It has around 6.5 inch front tires and as well 6.5 inch rear tires which are great.
This stroller has an incredibly easy fold. It’s one handed system. There is no bending for moms or dads what so ever. Unfolding a stroller is just as easy to do. And you also have a carrying handle for convenience.
So, it is a full sized stroller as part of a travel system but is not heavy and bulky. And you are going to be thrilled whit this in and out of your trunk. Just make sure that you know your trunk size and the size of your stroller before purchasing it. But for an SUV it is no problem.
Overall, it’s large canopy, sun visor, gigantic basket, flat recline and easy fold and unfold make this stroller a great choice. I give it five stars.
